Description
1) Objective
The Trust is supporting Christian Charities concerned with social inclusion particularly through ministries of healing and the arts. The trustees look favourably on organisations whose boards demonstrate equal opportunities. They will consider applications for projects abroad or in the UK. In the past they have supported:
- (1) music work with prisoners and ex-prisoners to gain the personal and practical skills to live a life of meaning and purpose after prison;
- (2) equipping local churches to enable poor families in their communities to make the most of local resources, skills and opportunities (i.e. in Rwanda);
- (3) supporting campaigns for religious minorities who face injustice because of their religion or belief (i.e. Nigeria).
2) Eligibility
They will consider applications for either capital or revenue funding but do not give grants to individuals. They look favourably on organisations whose boards demonstrate equal opportunities. Their focus is on supporting Christian charities.
3) Location
Actions can take place in various countries worldwide (i.e., India, DRC, Congo).
4) Budget
In any one year the grant range to a project is between £500 and £10,000. The maximum grant provided is £12,000.
5) Application
Applications are considered at twice yearly trustees meetings in April and October and need to be received by 31st January and 31st July each year. Applications should be submitted online, if not possible they can be submitted electronically to: secretary(a)theanchorfoundation.org.uk.
