Description
1) Objective
The Brageac Foundation (Foundation Brageac) was founded in 2016 under the auspices of the Caritas Foundation. It is a continuation of the former Fondation Brageac Solidarité which was created in 2006 under the auspices of the Fondation de France. The Brageac Foundation supports solidarity projects in France and abroad, which are sustainable change factor for beneficiaries and strengthen their autonomy, in particular by working towards the fight against exclusion, of integration assistance, as well as development aid.
The Foundation supports development projects in France and across the globe with a mission to promote social and economic development. Their programmatic areas of support in France are: (1) education, training, integration for children and young people under 25; and (2) professional and social integration of particularly fragile groups (homeless people, people leaving prison) with innovative approaches. Out of Europe they support: (1) education; and (2) vocational training for young girls.
2) Eligibility
Eligible to receive grant funding are associations, cooperatives, non-profit organizations, established in France only. They support projects presented by small or medium-sized organisations, whose annual budget does not exceed €2,000,000.
3) Location
Grant funding is provided for projects in France and across the globe (developing countries).
4) Budget
Individual grant sizes are in the range between €5,000 and €30,000. Support is usually provided for projects with a duration from one to three years.
5) Application
Applications may be submitted throughout the year (they have 3 cut off dates – 28 February, 30 June and 31 October), using the online application portal. Since the Executive Committee meets three times a year (January, May, and October), it may take four to seven months for a final response on funding decisions.
