Description
1) Objective
The purpose of the Foundation is to disburse monies for charitable and church purposes. This means Catholic charitable associations in the broadest sense or church organisations of the Roman Catholic Church. Their mission is to work with Catholic organizations to develop and implement innovative strategies for gender equality, social and economic justice. Their target groups are mixed groups of women and girls, men and boys involved in activities that address issues of gender discrimination and work towards gender equality.
Requirements for the supported projects are:
- Strategic partnerships with selected Catholic organisations that focus on developing sustainable, scalable models for promoting gender equality
- Projects with clearly defined knowledge transfer mechanisms
- Organisations that clearly recognise the need to focus on and prioritise gender equality by equally valuing and promoting girls and women, boys and men through innovative projects
2) Eligibility
Applicants must meet the foundation’s criteria, which include strategic partnerships with Catholic organizations, a focus on gender equality, clearly defined projects, alignment with relevant Sustainable Development Goals, and compliance with gender policies within their institutions.
3) Location
Actions must take place in Africa.
4) Budget
The grant sizes are not known.
5) Application
Interested applicants should contact the foundation via email with a brief description of their project idea and organisation. The foundation will then review the information to determine if the applicant should apply for support. This can be done all year round. Board meetings are held twice a year, usually in June and November.
