Description
1) Objective
The Karl Kahane Foundation was established in 1991 by the late Karl Kahane as an independent, privately funded, non-political and non-religious charitable foundation, and is based in Switzerland. It aims to help people to create a dignified and peaceful living environment for themselves and their neighbors. The KKF works together with various secular and religious organisations, be they Jewish, Christian or Muslim with utmost respect to their cultural and religious backgrounds of its partners as well as their social and political roles. KKF engages into dialogues with project initiators and local people who know best what their needs are. Where necessary, the KKF helps to find experts, advisers and sponsors. The Foundation does not initiate or execute projects of their own.
Based on current events, funding in this round will be focused on:
- Accessibility and Inclusion of people with disabilities
2) Eligibility
Non-profit organisations working in various fields as that of the Foundation are eligible to apply.
3) Location
Actions can take place in Europe and MENAT (Middle East, North Africa and Turkey) regions.
4) Budget
The Kahane Foundation does not publish any max/min funding sum, as need varies greatly from project to project. The award amount depends on both the project’s need and their evaluation.
5) Application
They only accept applications submitted through their online forms. All forms must be submitted in English language. Deadline for applications is usually twice a year in spring and autumn. All applicants for new projects are required to use the First-Step application form. The First-Step application form is often evaluated immediately upon submission, and shortly afterwards applicants can expect a reply with either an invitation to fill the Second-Step application form, or a decision to decline the project for funding. The next deadline is 27 November 2022.
