Description
1) Objective
The Katalpa Fund aims to contribute with its financial aid to the social projects dedicated to improving children’s and youth’s education in achieving their dreams, empowering women in social fields, protecting the natural environment, and preserving the unique culture and traditional lifestyle of nomadic herders in Mongolia.
Projects which will be organized and operated by non-profit organisations (NGOs) in Mongolia, focusing on preserving nomadic cultural elements and providing education and care for orphaned/or underprivileged children and young students are the priority and most welcome.
2) Eligibility
The Fund only accepts applications from non-profit and non-governmental organisations that are: Registered in Mongolia; Registered in Belgium.
3) Location
Support is provided to projects implemented in Mongolia. Applications will be accepted from NGOs who actively work in the countryside (provinces) and the capital city Ulaanbaatar.
4) Budget
The Fund contributes in varying amounts, but is limited to a maximum of EURO 30,000 for a grant
5) Application
They have wo annual grant cycles: (1) First Cycle: Applications open January 15 – February 28. Grants awarded in early April; (2) Second Cycle: Applications open July 15 – August 31. Grants awarded in early October.
