Description
1) Objective
The Morris Family Foundation was established in 2009 as the philanthropic arm of the Morris Group. Through their international development funding they support projects in various programmatic fields, including (1) removing barriers to education; (2) educational resources and infrastructure; (3) training, support and rescue action for communities susceptible to child trafficking; (4) care and rehabilitation for orphans and children in crisis; and (5) healthcare solutions and medical training. They particularly love supporting innovative, young social ventures in developing countries, aiding their mission to build awareness of critical issues within disadvantaged communities, especially regarding at-risk children.
This call is for pilot proposals for the study of equine behavior as it relates to preventing or improving important health or welfare issues.
2) Eligibility
Eligible for financial support are Australian non-profit organisations and local non-profits in developing countries that are involved on the ground (e.g. an Australian NGO partnered with a local NGO) with a track record of successful projects in providing services and benefits to under-privileged communities. The Foundation supports organisations and projects from a range of budgets and at any stage of development – from seed funding through to contributions towards a larger project.
3) Location
They have no focus countries but their regional focus appears to be South East Asia (e.g. Vietnam and Cambodia) and Africa (e.g. Tanzania and Kenya).
4) Budget
The grant budget is not known.
5) Application
The application deadline is 7 October 2022 and all applications must be submitted via their online application platform.
