Description

1) Objective

The International Children’s Peace Prize, awarded annually by KidsRights, recognizes and honors a child who has made a significant impact in advocating for children’s rights. The prize aims to provide a global platform for young changemakers, amplifying their message to a worldwide audience. The winner receives the “Nkosi” statuette, symbolizing a child’s power to move the world, along with the “Desmond Tutu study and care fund” for educational purposes. Additionally, a project fund of €100,000 is allocated to support children’s rights projects related to the winner’s area of work, furthering their impact and reach.

2) Eligibility

Nominees must be children aged between 12 and 17 years at the time of the nomination deadline. Candidates should have a demonstrable history of fighting for children’s rights. They must be comfortable with international travel and communication. Consent to the nomination is required.

3) Location

Actions can take place worldwide.

4) Budget

The award includes a project fund of €100,000 for investing in children’s rights projects related to the winner’s work.
