Description
1) Objective
The overall objective of this call for proposals is to increase the participation and inclusion of women, youth, and other vulnerable groups in territorial development processes in the municipalities of Bukinanyana, Cibitoke, Mugina, Busoni, and Kirundo.
The specific objectives of this call for proposals are:
- O.S1. Strengthen the capacities of civil society organizations (CSOs) in the design of projects focused on gender equality and inclusion.
- O.S2. Support municipal authorities and decentralized services in integrating a gender-sensitive approach into local planning.
- O.S3. Establish a call for proposals and select projects aimed at strengthening the participation and inclusion of women and young people in development initiatives as well as their leadership.
- O.S4. Ensure the management of funding, supervision and support of the winning CSOs in the implementation of their projects, ensuring rigorous and efficient management of the allocated funds.
Sectors or Themes are:
– Capacity building for sectoral civil society working in the areas of cooperation covered by the bilateral cooperation portfolio (health, agriculture, post-basic education, and professional integration)
– Capacity building for public administrations
– Promotion of participatory and inclusive approaches
– Implementation of a call for projects aimed at promoting the participation and inclusion of women and youth
– Monitoring and supporting CSOs receiving grants in project implementation
– Community mobilization of stakeholders through innovative approaches
2) Eligibility
Eligible applicants must: be a public entity; or a private not for profit entity or foundation.
3) Location
The actions must be implemented in Burundi.
4) Budget
The total indicative amount available under this Call for Proposals is €250,000. Grants may range from €200,000 to €250,000.
5) Application
The deadline for submission of concept notes is June 13, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., as evidenced by the date of mailing, postmark, or acknowledgment of receipt.
