Description
1) Objective
UNICEF Thailand’s “Promotion of Adolescent Healthy Lifestyles” project aims to address the rising issue of overweight and obesity among adolescents in Bangkok. With increasing urbanization leading to unhealthy dietary choices and reduced physical activity, the project seeks to provide equitable access to information and opportunities for adolescents to adopt healthy behaviors. This includes a focus on healthy eating, physical activity, and mental health support.
The initiative targets at least 40,000 adolescents in Bangkok, emphasizing disadvantaged groups such as those living in poverty or with disabilities. The project will involve collaboration with families, educators, healthcare providers, and community members to foster a supportive environment for healthy adolescent development.
2) Eligibility
Civil society organizations with experience in delivering programs related to healthy lifestyles, a track record of collaboration with multi-sectoral stakeholders, and direct experience working with adolescents are eligible to apply.
3) Location
Actions must take place in Thailand.
4) Budget
The indicative budget for the project is 200,000$. The selection criteria include cost-effectiveness, with the lowest-priced proposal receiving full marks and other proposals scored inversely proportional to the lowest price.
5) Application
The deadline for clarification requests is December 15, 2023, and the application deadline is January 12, 2024. Notification of results will be on January 23, 2024, with the project start date on March 1, 2024, and end date on September 30, 2025.
