Description
1) Objective
The American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) is the largest professional organisation for dermatologists in the United States, representing more than 20,000 physicians worldwide. Founded in 1938, the AAD is dedicated to advancing excellence in dermatologic care through education, research, advocacy, and clinical practice. Its members include board-certified dermatologists, dermatopathologists, international specialists, researchers, and industry professionals. The Academy supports its members with continuing education, clinical guidelines, professional development, and access to leading publications such as the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology.
The Academy offers grants to individuals and organizations to fund international volunteer and humanitarian projects under the Skin Care for Developing Countries program.
2) Eligibility
Organisations must be related to dermatology and global health care, and help underserved regions of the world.
3) Location
Actions can take place in developing countries.
4) Budget
Grants vary between $2,500 and $5,000 depending on the proposal, scope of the project, and availability of funds.
5) Application
To be considered for the grant, applications should be submitted by June 30, 2026. Grant recipients will be notified by the end of 2026, so they can plan for funding and programming. Applications received after June 30 will be considered for the next year’s funding cycle.
