Description
1) Objective
The Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in San Salvador has a fund for micro projects in El Salvador, which respond to the specific needs of the population and take account of the basic needs of the poorest population groups. To achieve this goal they support i.e. the purchase of equipment or short-term training. Projects for environmental protection, health care or the improvement of local infrastructures are also eligible for funding.
It is important that there are timely, clearly defined measures without recurring costs, which can be completed within one calendar year. So far they have funded some aquaculture projects and other rural development activities aimed at income generation and poverty reduction. The essential requirements are the following: the activity must be sustainable for at least two years after having received funding.
2) Eligibility
Non-profit organisations are eligible to apply.
3) Location
Actions must take place in El Salvador.
4) Budget
The maximum amount designated by microproject is approximately $15,000, (exceptions apply in some projects that require greater financing). In no case can purchases of land, administrative expenses, salaries, documentation expenses, travel expenses or unforeseen expenses be funded. The project must have a significant contribution from its beneficiaries (i.e. labor, transport, land, etc.).
5) Application
They will receive applications between September 1 and November 30, 2024. The templates for application can be downloaded from their website.
