Description
1) Objective
The global objective of this call for proposals is: to strengthen local Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) in Kazakhstan as independent and effective actors contributing to accountable, transparent and inclusive governance in the context of the country’s green and digital transitions.
The specific objective of this call for proposals is: to strengthen the role of CSOs in shaping institutional and corporate policy and practice in the context of the digital and green transitions by enhancing public accountability, enabling them to hold public and private actors accountable to social, environmental, governance and business and human rights standards, promoting evidence-based and inclusive policy dialogue across development processes and investments, and linking local evidence and innovation to national policy and reform frameworks in support of equitable and sustainable transitions.
2) Eligibility
In order to be eligible for a grant, the lead applicant must: (1) be a legal person and (2) be non-profit-making and (3) be Civil Society Organisation (CSO) and/or their association and (4) be directly responsible for the preparation and management of the action with the co-applicant(s) and affiliated entity(ies), not acting as an intermediary.
3) Location
Actions must take place in Kazakhstan.
4) Budget
The overall indicative amount made available under this call for proposals is €1,400,000. Any grant requested under this call for proposals must fall between the minimum €350,000 and maximum €350,000. Any grant requested under this call for proposals must fall between the minimum (90%) and maximum (95%) percentage of total eligible costs of the action.
5) Application
The concept note together with the declaration by the lead applicant must be submitted online via PROSPECT. The deadline for the submission is 12 May 2026.
