Description
1) Objective
The British High Commission in Pretoria has announced a call for project proposals aimed at enhancing democracy, inclusion, and peace in South Africa during the 2024 elections. This initiative seeks to mitigate risks of violence and exclusion, and bolster post-election accountability and oversight. The programme will support civil society’s critical role in ensuring peaceful and inclusive elections and empower oversight bodies to constructively engage with the Executive afterward. With a focus on research and evidence-based political analysis, the project is dedicated to strengthening governance and democracy through civil society’s efforts and contributions.
2) Eligibility
Eligible applicants include non-profit organizations (single entities or consortia) and multilateral organizations. Applicants should have the capability to deliver the project outcomes and be willing to engage in pre- and post-election activities to support civil society and oversight bodies in South Africa.
3) Location
Actions must take place in South Africa.
4) Budget
The programme has a budget allocation of up to £700,000 for activities scheduled from January to December 2024. The funding will be provided as a grant to the selected organization or consortium.
5) Application
