Description
1) Objective
PDS Mozambique invites proposals for programs that strengthen ties between the United States and Mozambique through educational and cultural exchange. All programs must include an American element or connection with an American expert, organization, or institution. Given the importance of and interest in growing English language abilities, this cycle’s priority area is focused on increasing access to English learning.
The following types of programs are not eligible for funding:
- Programs relating to partisan political activity;
- Charitable or development activities;
- Construction programs;
- Programs that support specific religious activities;
- Fund-raising campaigns;
- Lobbying for specific legislation or programs;
- Scientific research;
- Programs intended primarily for the growth or institutional development of the organization; or
- Programs that duplicate existing programs.
2) Eligibility
The Public Affairs Section encourages applications from Registered not-for-profit organizations, including think tanks and civil society/non-governmental organizations with programming experience; Individuals; Non-profit or governmental educational institutions; Governmental institutions.
3) Location
Actions must take place in Mozambique.
4) Budget
Award amount ranges from $5,000 – $30,000. Expected Number of Awards is 5 awards. Length of performance period is 6 months.

All application materials must be submitted by 30 April 2023.
