Description
1) Objective
The United Nations Women’s Peace & Humanitarian Fund (WPHF) has launched a Call for Proposals in Iraq to support civil society organizations to implement projects focusing on conflict prevention and crisis planning, as well as supporting local women’s and young women’s rights organizations through institutional funding. WPHF seeks to fund qualifying local organizations in Iraq through the following funding streams:
- Programmatic funding from 30,000 USD to 250,000 USD
To finance programmatic activities of CSOs aimed at improving the socio-economic recovery and political participation of displaced women and girls due to the war in Ukraine (in line with WPHF impact area 6). - Institutional funding from 2,500 USD to 30,000 USD
To reinforce the institutional capacity of women’s rights and women-led organizations that i) have a specific focus on women and girls in forced displacement in their mission; ii) have project activities led by forcibly displaced women and girls; and iii) have women and girls in forced displacement as staff members.
2) Eligibility
International, national and local women- led, women’s rights, feminist, or civil society organizations with a proven track record working with women and girls, are eligible to apply. Grassroots and local community-based organizations are particularly encouraged to apply. Joint projects are allowed and encouraged.
3) Location
Actions must take place in Ukraine.
4) Budget
Funding may range from 2,500$ to 250,000$.
