Did you know that there are more than 140,000 charitable foundations in Europe? Many of them give grants for projects in international development cooperation.
Grant-making foundations are becoming more important as funders for international development projects. According to the Global Philanthropy Report (2018) “global philanthropy holds immense promise as global giving is growing, gaining visibility, and creating much-needed change around the world”.
In Europe, we can also observe these upward trends. In Switzerland, a new grant-making foundation is created almost every day, with a combined fortune of almost CHF100 billion ($100 billion). Twice as many charitable foundations (around 700) are established in Germany every year. Associations of charitable grant-making foundations in many countries are increasingly professionalising and networking so that private philanthropy can flourish.
But who are these foundations and how do they ‘tick’? And most importantly: how can I find the ‘right match’ and create a funding partnership with them?
Our webinar:
Our webinar provides some answers. In a very interactive and hands-on session, we kick off by showing you the international/European trends and dynamics in this sector and move on to zooming into the most attractive foundation markets in Europe. We then happily share our research strategies on donor research and navigate you through different web-based platforms and resources that will help you in your search. Finally, we share some tips on how to connect and engage with them.
